Mission: To coordinate the talents of area volunteers and staff, to marshal public and private resources for support, and to provide activities, programs and a supporting environment with which to enable participants of all ages to become engaged in nature and in the experience of science while having fun in the process.

Programs: The corporation is organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, including: to promote and provide educational programs to enhance environmental awareness and science education and literacy in eastern north carolina, and to accept figts, grants, devises or bequests that promote the religious, educational and charitable purposes as defined herin
