When my son was almost 21 he joined the Brandywine Roller Derby Girls. He initially joined as a referee, but he later became a mascot. He loved the group, he was accepted, and when they realized he didn't have skates, and was renting them each practice, they bought him his own skates and a bag and accessories. He loves them to this day! For a young guy, with special needs but no thoughts of being less then others, he was accepted as a friend. These are true heroes in our books.
