Mission: Bountiful cities is the urban agriculture resource in asheville. We share agriculture
Programs: Asheville/buncombe community garden network (cgn): a bountiful cities coordinated member network of over 35 community gardens building individual and community health and equity through organized, thriving, neighborhood-based urban agriculture. The network facilitates resource sharing, gardening education, monthly garden meet-ups, a monthly community garden newsletter, and manages volunteer recruitment and fundraising, while connecting area gardens with the supports and resources of local businesses and gardening affiliates. The cgn shares a tool and seed saving library. Bountiful cities has been able to collaboratively secure funding these individual gardens would not be able to access that allows them to succeed and thrive.
grass-to-greens: an entrepreneurial landscaping program focusing on creating edible natural landscapes in private locations all over the city. This program teaches agricultural and business skills to women, people of color, and low-income individuals. Last year alone this program created and or maintained over 50 edible spaces across asheville. These locations include private residents, schools, and small businesses.
