This has been the most rewarding volunteer position I have ever had and the most deserving non profit organization I have had the privilege to be involved with. I found them to be a positive influence over my children's high school experience. The kids and adults involved are some of the most accepting, creative, supportive people you will ever meet. The board is responsive and very hands on and I appreciate that everyone who wants to be involved is welcomed. They do so much with the limited resources available. I would love to see what they can do with more.
This program is in place first and foremost to ensure that every student has an opportunity to participate in the theatre arts program. At need scholarships are available for ASB fees, Festival fees, dance shoes and enrichment programs. The opportunities given have enabled students to learn teamwork, empathy, literature, history, acceptance, public speaking, thinking on their feet, woodworking, sewing, scenic painting, lighting, sound, memorization, acting, directing and auditioning. I have heard students talk about how the theatre department is their family and supported them through family problems and school problems and shared their successes.
