Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Bcil provides services to people with disabilities to enable them to live independently.
Programs: Personal care attendant services - to act as the programmatic conduit between government agencies and consumers requiring attendants to provide physical assistance with activities of daily living and homemaking tasks.
adult services - provides independent living skills building and peer mentoring to disabled individuals in order to give the individuals skills for application in community living and to establish independent lifestyles for them.
adrc - the boston aging disability resource consortium is a collaboration between bcil and three aging service access point programs and the boston commission on affairs of the elderly to provide coordinated services to elders and people with disabilities. Our primary effort is to provide options counseling to people in or at risk of going in a nursing home so they can live in the community. Bcil coordinates services for the adrc.
other program services include community integration services, youth services, community access and rehabilitation.
