Causes: Arts & Culture, Theater
Mission: Borinquen dance theatre, inc. Provides a year-round self-development dance program for young persons, mainly hispanic young women, ages 8-20, performing throughout nys. Services benefit between 50-100 students each year.
Programs: As the result of regular weekly rehearsals, participants were able to provide a total of ten performances at various venues throughout our area. More experienced dancers also had the opportunity to mentor their peers by choreographing routines and teaching those routines as peer instructors. Participants also had the opportunity to attend professional dance performances to observe other forms of dance, as well as improve upon their own techniques by learning from more experienced performers.
