Causes: Health, Patient & Family Support
Mission: Provide emotional and spiritual support for families caring for a child with pediatric cancer by offering week-long retreats at a beach location.
Programs: Hosted four week-long retreats at the beach for families facing pediatric cancer. Served 48 guest families at no cost to them. Over 330 people volunteered to serve the guest families at the retreats. The volunteers donated or raised the money to fund the retreats. Blue skies offers the hope of christ to families who are facing pediatric cancer by taking them to the beach for a week and giving them a chance to reconnect as a family and find rest and renewal. Over forty adult volunteers and their children come to serve these guest families on each retreat by cooking their meals, cleaning their accomodations, and leading fun activities to help take them out of their difficult world of hospitals and doctors for the week. Local businesses donated food and other suppplies to help with each retreat.
