Causes: Environment, Land Resources Conservation
Mission: The blue mountain conservancy, located in northeast oregon's grande ronde valley, was established for the permanent protection of land and resources within this local geographic area. We offer stewardship, education, and advice for the conservation, preservation, and enhancement of agriculture lands, private forestlands, and natural open-space lands.
Programs: Conservation: the blue mountains conservancy promotes conservation of private lands in ne oregon. We pay dues to professional organizations and conduct fund-raising events to build capacity to meet objectives. Approximately 250 people attended conservation information events.
education: we conduct public outreach to provide educational materials and presentations about conservation easements; and we provide opportunities to the public for outdoor education experiences at eastement sites. Approximately 550 people attended educational events.
restoration and other: we help fund restoration on private lands that are placed in conservation easements. Approximately 50 people volunteered with restoration planting workparties in 2013.
