Programs: Sponsored the 52nd annual blackland growth conference in february to include training in the commodity areas of grain, cotton, beef, forage, horticulture, wildlife, family summit and economic development. The organization also held a commodity meeting luncheon.
the big ag tour features an innovative educational approach and highlights successful farmers, ranchers and agribusiness. Participants are able to witness and have a dialogue with key leaders. Ideas and methods can be applied back in the participants' operations. Each year, the tour visits states that have applicable commodities that texas' producers can consider as they make management decisions. The 2014 tour to tennessee featured a prestigious horse farm, commercial distillery, ut plateau research center, a commercial angus farm operation, and a registered hereford livestock operation.
