Mission: Birth choice is a christ-centered organization serving north county san diego that gives aid and support to women and men who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy and provides alternatives to abortion. The organization provides educational materials to clients and community groups to increase abstinence awareness and decrease the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Birth choice also provides information and referrals for adoption.
Programs: Provide pregnancy support and health services, including pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, to educate and empower women to carry a baby to term. In 2017, birth choice partnered with another christian organization to purchase a mobile ultrasound unit. The women's mobile clinic became licensed and operational in july 2017. Educate clients and the community of the importance of abstinence until marriage and promote holistic approaches to family planning through client advocacy, public speaking engagements, workshops and internet presence. Provide clients with workshops and mentorship to parent effectively and form healthy relationships while earning material goods for their children. Provide comfort and healing for post-abortion clients through peer counseling. Refer for services within the community that are of benefit, including medical, housing, financial and church referrals. Provide information on adoption as a viable alternative. Teach 'by design', a sexual integrity program for women. Hired a new nurse manager, nurse advisor and additional staff to enable future growth and efficiency for the birth choice center as well as the women's mobile clinic. Improved and updated policies and procedures.
