Mission: The organization's primary exempt purpose is to encourage the building and strengthening of collaborative working relationships amongst life science industry leaders in a global context; to promote continued investment and growth in the life sciences; and to review exciting new opportunities for future investment and innovation in the life sciences on an international level.
Programs: The organization held its annual retreat during the period march 29, 2017 through april 1, 2017 that brought together leaders from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The retreat provided structured forums where participants engaged in meetings and discussions regarding the advancement of science, industry trends and urgent issues. In addition to its annual biotechnology retreat, the organization held its first retreat for the general healthcare industry during the period march 22, 2017 through march 25, 2017. This retreat was designed to share lessons learned between the us, europe, and the emerging markets and to support continued growth and development in the healthcare sector.
the institute created a $20,000 scholarship fund at northeastern university designed to fund recruitment of women from emerging market countries interested in studying in the sciences - preferably one of the life sciences. The institute supported a teenage child in sri lanka by providing funds that allowed her to attend high school. Funding in the amount of $1,181 was provided. The institute also made grants to us 501(c)(3) organizations totaling $4,000.
