Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: North Carolina ranks #3 in the nation for the highest number of euthanasia procedures performed on shelter animals. Black animals make up a majority of that number due, in part, to the misconception that they are harder to adopt. Our mission is to decrease the number of black cats and kittens euthanized in our area by rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding furever homes for those house panthers in need. We strive to share the magic of black cats and foster a community that loves and protects them.

Everyone who is adopting a cat should visit Binx's Home for Black Cats. They put the care and future of their cats first. Their cats have all of the tests and vaccines, are microchipped, cleared of illness, and sprayed or neutered. Binx knows their cats and carefully vets perspective adopters to ensure an excellent match. I recently adopted a new friend from Binx and the relations is off to a great start with a very bright future.

Binx's Home for Black Cats is such a special place! They care so much about the cats in the community, and work really hard to match individual cats with their future homes. All of their cats are fully vetted, meaning they have all of their tests and vaccines, and they are all cleared of illness and are spayed or neutered. What sets them apart is the process they undertake to get to know each of the cats and each of the adopters so they can match the cats with the right "furever home". We love Binx's Home and will probably be adopting again soon!

Binx’s is an invaluable resource for black cats in our community! They pull directly from overcrowded shelters that need help and offer a safe haven for the house panthers of WNC!
