Causes: Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Children & Youth
Mission: To build trusting and enduring relationships that encourage and support young people. Vision: Our Little Brothers and Little Sisters will live and learn in positive, opportunity rich environments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Results: A study conducted by Harris Interactive in 2009 examined the long term outcomes of Little Brothers and Little Sisters in a relationship for one or more years and found: 75% were more likely to have received a four-year college degree 39% were more likely to have a current household income of $75,000 or higher 62% perceived themselves to have achieved a higher level of success than their peers who were not involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters
Target demographics: Children from all walks of life who want and need an additional positive role model, youth ages 5 to 18 residing in Eastern Missouri
Direct beneficiaries per year: approximately 3,000 young people
Geographic areas served: City of St. Louis and the Counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Cape Girardeau and Scott
Programs: Big brothers big sisters of eastern missouri provides mentors to youth ages 5-25. Through these positive relationships, we are able to provide lasting impact on the lives of young people. All expenses incurred are a result of the program. There were 2,145 matches in 2014.
