Mission: Big bend hospice foundation is a not-for-profit organization that was established to solicit contributions and other community support to further the mission of big bend hospice, a related tax-exempt organization.
Programs: Big bend hospice foundation (foundation) was established in 1996 in order to raise the funds necessary to build the hospice house for big bend hospice (bbh), a related tax-exempt organization. The foundation continues as the fundraising arm of bbh, raising funds for patient and family support programs. Programs supported include the caring tree program, which offers care for children and teens grieving the loss of a loved one. Professional counselors listen, teach, and provide strategies for these children to successfully navigate the grieving process. Music therapy offers prescribed use of music by trained professionals to attain specific therapeutic goals & enhance patient care. Funds are also raised to support a variety of programs including a special patient needs fund, chaplains & spiritual support & other patient & family care needs.
