Causes: Disaster Aid, Disaster Preparedness & Relief Services
Mission: To provide a collaborative forum for the healthcare community to interact with one another and other response agencies at a local level. To coordinate and improve the delivery of healthcare services during emergency response incidents. To identify local healthcare assets available during a response. To identify gaps in the healthcare community's ability to effectively respond to an incident. To assist local emergency support function 8 by providing situational awareness and a common operating picture.
Programs: To build upon existing public health and healthcare partnerships in the big bend region for the purpose of forming a broader collaborative network of healthcare organizations and their respective public and private sector response partners. The goal of the bbhcc is to facilitate integration, coordination, and organization of all appropriate healthcare organizations in order to work together to provide much needed healthcare support in a disaster.
