Mission: The mission of The Betty Jane Center s to be the provider of choice in assisting persons to attain their fullest physical, mental, social and vocational independence. The Center was named as a living memorial to Betty Jane Friedman for the purpose of creating the Mayo Clinic of N.W. Ohio where children with disabilities could obtain the medical/social and educational services they required for independence. In 1968 the vocational/industrial division was developed to help individuals 14 years of age and older develop the skills required for employment (vocational independence).
