Mission: Raising money to support, enhance and preserve Bettendorf Public Library programs and services.
Programs: The library foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1983 to seek private sector support for maintaining the excellence of programs and services offered by the bettendorf public library. We support the library through projects and services, activities to advance reading and learning, and special programs that enrich the lives of children, families, seniors and new readers. While tax dollars allow the library to buy materials and keep the building open, it is only through private gifts that innovative new programs and services to meet the community's changing needs can be developed and implemented. With tax caps, diminishing state and federal funds and the increasing costs of materials and supplies, cutbacks are inevitable if new sources of funding are not developed. The library foundation strives to ensure that the bettendorf public library information center can continue to meet the needs of the community, today and tomorrow.
