Mission: We are an interfaith ministry to the homeless, disabled and economically disadvantaged citizens of schenectady county, building a just, hospitable and inclusive community one person at a time by affirming the dignity and addressing the needs of each guest entering this house of mercy. Programs include a hospitality center, emergency/crisis assistance, housing case management, representative payee financial management program, women's support group,the lighthouse, and liberty apartments.
Programs: The organization operates a hospitality center which services include: a day drop-in center, daily community meals, mailboxes and storage lockers, phone, fax, copier and message center, clothing, client choice food pantry, hygiene kits, household goods, and referral and information services.
housing servicesthe lighthouse program- a 10 bed facility of which 7 beds are permanent supportive housing, 3 beds are transistional housing beds for veterans, provides a safe and affordable rental housing for disabled adults with a history of chronic homelessness. The liberty house apartments - 15 unit, 16 bed permanent supportive housing program. Housing case management- assist guest to stabilize income and find the most suitable housing that is both safe and affordable. Emergency/crisis intervention- assist homeless families and individuals navigate the complex system of care to receive emergency shelter placement and other basic needs as quickly as possible.
representative payee financial management program- management of ssi benefits for disabled, homeless, and working poor guests and residents.
