Mission: The mission of the berks arts council is to cultivate, support, and promote the arts in our community through collaboration, education, and presentation.
Programs: Boscov's berks jazz fest held march 31 - april 9, 2017 is a series of jazz concerts throughout the county, including some with no admission charge. It provides a forum for this art form and draws people from outside berks county to experience what berks has to offer. This program received $133,034 in donated services. Attendance was 40,000 with more than 400 artists participating at more than 125 concerts at local venues.
bandshell concerts - free outdoor concerts performed on friday evenings which showcase a great variety of music forms. An informal park setting makes it possible for anyone who so desires to attend. This program received donated services of $6,582. In the summer of 2017, 4 concerts were held with an attedance of approximately 5,500.
other programs - various workshops and programs designed to promote the arts and cultural activities in berks county. These programs received donated services of $10,447. Events included special concerts and exibitions held throughout the year and for the holiday, including two visual arts exhibitions. Ppa regrants - project stream and program stream grants that are regranted to other organizations through the pa partners in the arts re-grant program. 82 total grants were awarded.
