Mission: It is the mission, duty and purpose of berea academy saint louis to provide college and life skill preparatory tutoring sessions both in core subjects and electives for k-12 students. Berea academy saint louis serves the st. Louis homeschool community, allowing parents to remain the ultimate authority over their childs education as outlined by missouri state law while providing access to academically rigorous tutoring sessions in a group environment. Berea academy saint louis also provides access to tutoring sessions focused on development of life skills with a group environment structure.
Programs: Tutors are employed based on their ability to provide programming to the homeschool community. Berea academy utilizes a traditional school year, beginning in september and ending in may, with the year divided into semester blocks. 30 tutors are employed through this program.
berea academy saint louis is building connectivity to the homeschool community through its website bereaacademystl. Org and through meet and greet events; in person meeting and conversation is a highly effective method of communication within the homeschool community. Such events have been held at both tutoring session locations, as well as in the greater community through representatives at homeschool focused conventions. 200 students are reached through this homeschooling program.
tutoring sessions are held at two different locations. Tutoring sessions meet once a week. These building rents and building expenses benefit our homeschool community program and the 30 tutors along with the 200 students all listed above.
