Causes: Domestic Fraternal Societies
Mission: To inculcate the principles of charity, justice, brotherly love and fidelity; to recognize a belief in god; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to quicken the spirit of american patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, the sikeston elks will serve the people and community through benevolent programs.
Programs: Scholarship programs are in place to encourage high school seniors to continue on to college. Student of the year programs encourage attendance to college. Disbursements are made directly to the colleges. Smaller scholarship programs are also encouraged.
youth programs are a major emphasis, from drug awareness programs to good citizenship programs to encouraging participation in youth sports.
elks honor our country's veterans by sponsoring or organizing programs that improve the quality of life of our veterans.
