After retiring from a career as a private school administrator, I was looking for a way to get involved in my local community. I attended a few meetings of the Belmar Arts Council, liked what I heard and agreed to chair an art show at a local bank. That experience led me to accept the invitation to join the Board and get more involved in this all-volunteer organization, which is dedicated to enhancing life in this Jersey Shore community through the arts. By running shows almost monthly at its charming gallery near the Shark River, and offering classes in all kinds of art, the BAC provides local artists venues to exhibit their work and residents and visitors opprtunities to see exciting, new and original works.
