It's been a joy to volunteer with the Bean Bag Food Program for the past six years. Children experiencing food scarcity in our local community receive weekend meals (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 snacks) to help them stay healthy, alert and ready to learn in school. This year volunteers packed 285 bags each week while another cadre of volunteers delivered bags to homes through two local school districts. In additional to weekly meals, the BBFP also sponsors quarterly food box distributions. Families come to a local church, have breakfast, receive fresh produce, meat, dairy products, and canned/dry goods, and learn about other community resources. This program is making a difference for children and families!
