Causes: Education
Mission: Working to close the opportunity and achievement gap among families with fewer available resources, making high school and college graduation attainable for all girls regardless of the socioeconomic conditions in which they live.
Programs: Development of, and fundraising for, the summer leadership program (sla). The sla will provide local students (rising 5th grade females) an introduction to activities on the university of north carolina wilmington's campus and in the community while introducing them and their guardians to glow academy's commitment to changing young women's lives through education and opportunities not otherwise available to them. The sla is a component of the summer programs for the glow academy's students and will serve as a preliminary recruitment pipeline for future students.
