Target demographics: specifically mitigate the impacts of racial disenfranchisement, continued exploitation, environmental conditions including violence, and exclusion from our housing and food systems.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 302 fruit trees donated to the Grow the Canopy / Slow the Flow Adopt A Tree Program Planted four community gardens Four years of quarterly Cleanups of Moore’s Creek Changed laws on infill redevelopment of vacant lots to build affordable housing. Introduced, lobbied for, and won the fight for special redevelopment zoning designations, which makes this project possible.
Geographic areas served: Bcause We Love Inc., is a community regeneration project, our mission is to end blight by any means!
Programs: We use permaculture design principles and ethics to model urban homesteads, farms, food forests, aquaculture, and agroforestry where we share workforce, agricultural, and horticultural skills. Self-reliance and self-sufficiency of our participants is our goal.
