It's wonderful to have a LOCAL theater in Sag Harbor that produces professional performances. I especially enjoyed "Splendora" that was produced many years ago. The first production was amazing..."Men's Lives." We are so lucky to live close enough to Baystreet Theater to see most of the shows. Joan Brill, East Hampton

Bay Street Theatre is the type of theatre that I experienced when I was is London. It has the same magic and intimacy I felt when I went to plays there. The actors are so close and it is as if one is actually present in the scene. I am transported into a magical world every time I attend one of Bay Street's excellent presentations. The sets are marvelous, the actors are diverse and wonderful and often famous. The selection of plays would satisfy anyone and most likely, everyone. I am bewitched!!!

One of my greatest joys has been to give my inlaws theater tickets for a Christmas present. After each performance, they call to thank us and we have an opportunity to share a wonderful venue with each other. "Dinner" was a hoot!

Bay Street is a wonderful resource for our community and provides a diverse set of theatrical and musical services. Our community would be significantly impaired, culturally, if we didn't have Bay Street Theatre.

A wonderful, truly community focused resource. A wonderful mixture of high art, low art and community response. I am both a volunteer and a consumer. Well done!

I have been attending and volunteering at Bay Street from its first year. I'll always remember Bay Street's first production, 'Men's Lives' Having spent 22 years as a volunteer at the Arena Stage in Wash. D.C., I have found Bay Street to be comparable in quality and purpose to the Arena. Both are bold in trying new ideas and both have a strong educational component. From the quality of the actors to the imagination of the sets and the professionalism of all concerned, Bay Street is where excellance blooms every season.

BST is a great Community asset. Of course the summer plays are terrific but also impressive are the number of events that Bay St. hosts throughout the year. Even in the glum of winter, there about 8 - 10 (maybe more) things happenining there monthly.

Bay Street Theater runs one of the most comprehensive programs for the arts on the East End of Long Island. From the summer plays to the winter movies there is always some thing for everyone. The childrens workshops are done well, as are the special events. Coordination with local groups and schools also brings in new , exciting and upcoming talent.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the variety of programs at the Bay Street Theatre are of the most professional and enjoyable in the entire East End area. Whether it be the plays, comedies, musicals, drama, etc., to the fall and winter movie selections, the Thursday Jazz nights, and the special programs, with noted name celebrities, e.g. Alan Alda, Joy Behar, Michael Fienstein, the Bay Street Theatre is a most exciting place to be. The programs are professionally organized, directed and performed to the pleasure of all who attend.

What moves me most about being at Bay Street is the sense of community that staff seek to engender -- from the moment the public walks in, staff members and volunteers seem to get caught up in informal conversation. There's a relaxed sense of being part of both a theatre and geographical community. As they wait for the doors to open, many audience members chat up those nearby: there should be more of this -- perhaps free coffee, tea and soda would help.

As a volunteer, I have witnessed how Bay Street reaches various audiences and their various tastes by offering a broad spectrum of plays, musical performances, children's theatre, comedians, local talents, films, holiday programs, and dialogues with interesting local residents. The various genres entertain older, sophisticated audiences and educate younger audiences. Many well-known performers grace the stage year after year. The size of the theatre allows an intimate relationship between the performers and audience which contributes to its popularity for local residents and visitors vacationing in the Hamptons. It's and enchanting place.

I have been a volunteer usher with Bay Street Theater for nearly a year and I am consistently impressed with several aspects: 1) How well organized the theatre is. Responsibilities and roles are clearly defined and volunteers are trained to represent the theatre in the most positive light. In addition, the contributions of volunteers are always commented on and appreciated. 2) The theatre is a living, vital member of the entire East End community, offering a year-round array of live performances, classic films, children's programs and showcases for local talent. This spirit was best exemplified in the recent fund-raiser event for Haiti which featured local musicians (who in truth came from many parts of the world) who raised $10,000 (and the roof!) to benefit those affected by the earthquake. 3) There is a spirit at Bay Street that is rare and hard to describe. Everyone involved is dedicated to the place and you can just sense the joy when you walk through the doors.
