Base Camp has been a part of my family’s life ever since my son was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2016. They provided Birthday and End of Chemo parties for him at the clinic. They also have Christmas, Halloween and Christmas in July parties, as well as sleepovers at hotels. Every Friday night they provide an awesome Base in Winter Park full of kid-friendly food and fun so that parents of cancer kids can drop off the kiddos (siblings too!) and have a date night. That has been a life saver! And of course when my son was inpatient they brought him food from local restaurants, as well as stocked the family break room with Einstein bagels. I’ve included a picture of him chowing down on a burger courtesy of BaseCamp. The chemo made my son’s sense of smell very sensitive, so he refused most of the hospital food. We love Base Camp workers and volunteers for all that they have done for us and so many other cancer families over the years!!!!
