Mission: To provide person-centered services to adults based on the needs of each individual so that they are able to live their lives to the fullest. ____ catholic charities bureau affiliates are organized to maintain, operate and conduct; directly or indirectly; as well as to assist and coordinate activities and social services in accordance with the charitable works and traditions of the roman catholic church. Works are carried out in accordance with catholic social teachings.
Programs: The day and work services provides a wide variety of learning, work and recreational opportunities to people with varied abilities. Adult day programs offer scheduling choices of activities both community based and facility based. Some examples of activities include volunteering opportunities at the local nursing home, st. Vincent de paul thrift store, barron fire department and at the local technical college. Individuals also participate in classes and activities that are designed to build on increasing daily living skills. A total of 7806 hours of day services was provided to 20 individuals.
enterprises were specifically created to support individuals with disabilities with hands-on work opportunities at a pace and expectation level that meets the individuals current abilities while also providing a safe environment to focus on community workplace readiness. Services include job development/preparedness, job shadowing/coaching, task analysis, transportation, employment supports, career profile services and transition to long term community employment. In 2017, 4 individuals pursued community employment with 4 area businesses. Within the facility, 38,307 hours of training were provided to 38 participants who were pursuing their individual prevocational goals toward future community employment while earning $73,344.
rest area maintenance (ram) program: bcdsi has a wisconsin state use contract to provide janitorial and lawn care services to two year-round rest areas and one seasonal wayside. A total of 5 individuals with disabilities worked in this capacity making above minimum wage.
