Causes: Education, Educational Services
Mission: The primary goal of the organization is to encourage education using aviation. Students study aviation, science, technology, engineering and math.
Programs: During the 2017 year we sponsored a group of 12 to go to the native american leadership summit (warrior leadership summit). These students were all from a village in bush alaska. For many it was the first time out of alaska. They all live hundreds of miles from the nearest road. They were able to experience life skills that do not exist in their world such as navigating a large airport, meeting other cultures, and traveling on interstate highways. We also funded the follow-up from this trip. This is a critical component of a trip like this. Students learn so much in a short period of time. Without follow-up reviews they will soon forget the benefits of the things learned. All the students on this trip came from broken homes and live well below the poverty level. They worked to raise part of the money for the trip and we funded the rest. In addition to this year's students, we continued to follow up on previous year's students who are now young adults. Many are beginning to repeat the same destructive lifestyles they came out of. We feel it critical to continue connecting with them as they begin families of their own. We began an initiative to continue to connect with those who are in their 20s and 30s that we took on trips as teens and continue to mentor them into jobs and families. We also want to acknowledge those that are living functional lifestyles and encourage them as young adults to continue to make a difference with their lives.
