Causes: Philanthropy, Public Foundations
Mission: Our motto is we serve. We donate to charitable organizations that help the blind and the needy. Our members volunteer their time and donate money for fund raising events. All administrative costs for the lion's club are paid personally by the members. The only line items for our events are revenues and out of pocket expenses specific to that event. There are no paid staff and the treasurer fills out the tax return. There are internal auditing procedures.
Programs: Our motto is we serve. We want everyone to see a better tomorrow and not to be hungry. We donate to sight programs such as the the helen l diller vacation home for blind children in avalon who provide a camp environment for blind children during the summer. Donations are used to cover the cost of $1500. 00 per week per camper. There are no costs to the campers. We also believe that everyone deserves a healthy life. We have made food pantries a priority due to the poor economic climate in cape may county. We also donate to volunteers in medicine a free medical clinic located in cape may county that also provides medication and coalition against rape and abuse, toys for tots, c. A. S. A. , family promise and the lions eye bank of delaware county.
