Programs: Hope classes. Taught over 300 clasess to over 1300 students in 5 public and 1 private school teach abstinence from risky behavior involving sexual activity, drug and alcohol use. Also, teach characted education courses using seven mindsets material. Promote family values and relationships, personal responsibility and personal achievement. In high school classes, teach preparation for marriage classes, conflict resolution, and basic finance including introduction to use of credit, credit cards, insurance, budgeting.
family service ministry work with 40 families and over 50 children involved in programs teaching basic life skills, integrity, personal responsibilitiy, and responsible family relationships. Weekly activities include after school programs providing tutoring, self worth classes, and bible studies. 30 familys have active church involvement. Program is primarily involved with assisting families who desire positive lifestyle changes and who seek to become more successful in financial, spiritual, physical and social areas of life.
parents as teachers 50 families are enrolled and are learning how to teach children basic motor skills, vocabulary, musical skills, basic math skills, and social skills. Parents are also taught how to set boundaries.
christian learning center work in three local high schools (two public and one private) teaching approximately 140 students in current sessions. Teaching is biblically centered and courses are sacs accredited. Students receive full academic credit and courses are graded. Classes meet 5 days per week during the regular school day at off campus locations. Atlas provides transportation and all classroom and teaching materials and paid instruction. Victory train an ongoing collaboration among different organizations in greene county that are focused on early childhood with the goal of working in partnership with parents so that every child is kindergarten ready when they enter school. This is done through sharing information and support from seventeen organizations that focus on serving children in these early childhood years.
