Today is my first time donating on giving Tuesday, I really wanted to donate towards organizations that helped families.
Atlanta Outreach Project is a wonderful organization, serving the needs of the community in a unique way. The organization is led by highly qualified and dedicated individuals, with impeccable integrity and a vision for bringing about a positive change in the city.
This is a wonderful organization that is there to serve the people. They truly care for folks living on the street and produce results in rehabilitating and bringing lost souls back into society. Administrative costs are kept very low so that every dollar given is very effective in providing for the ones who need a hand up not a handout!
I had the opportunity to volunteer with AOP. It is an honor to see lives change right before my eyes. Where they felt hopeless and rejected, AOP showed love and give them hope to believe again. They taught them, "there is life & restoration after a storm" and that "failures only allow us to try a new way of thinking." This organization is making a BIG impact in the Metro Atlanta area bring lives and families together for a better tomorrow. Chandra Mathis
I have know about this organization since 2010 and have watched them grow. They continue to bring greater structure to their programs and therefore structure to the lives of those they serve. They have a strong emphasis on creating a "family" feeling since most have no family ties. This is just as important a need to meet as the roof over their head. I highly recommend them for your charitable giving. A good cause for sure.
Atlanta Outreach Project is a phenomenal program. They far exceed the expectations for a non-profit. They truly love and accept all no matter the circumstances. They make any and everyone feel welcomed, safe and loved. I highly recommend this program to everyone!

They have created such a welcoming and safe place for people to get their lives turned around.
I am sincerely impressed with the passion and professionalism of AOP and its leaders. I have personally witnessed the intentional outreach to those in the Atlanta area that are in need, and ready, to get the assistance they need to make the right choices to better their lives and become productive and successful citizens. I sincerely appreciate all that AOP is doing in Atlanta!
Atlanta-outreach is one of the sincerest non-profit organizations operating today! Their help to the Atlanta area is unequal in providing care with wisdom and understanding! The people who receive the benefits of the organization are edified for the rest of their lives. Thank you to All who make Atlanta-Outreach the best it can be within the confines of non-profit!
The people you meet at AOP are great. They care about making change in the world, and are just a blessing to work with. AOP has people that go the extra mile for the surrounding community and their clients. Additionally, AOP will invest in those with little experience as long as they are willing and able. Keep up the good work!
Atlanta Outreach Project is an amazing program. The best part about Atlanta Outreach is the LOVE & HOPE they genuinely shower their clients with. This program shows each client just how powerful love & hope is. Through love & hope, Atlanta Outreach Project clients are able to regain their self-worth, hope for the future & the family centered support that every homeless person lacks. Atlanta Outreach Project provides support for a many client needs. From referrals for clothing, Assistance with Marta (so the clients can keep & make their appointments) to basic hygiene supplies. Not only does Atlanta Outreach Project care for their clients material needs, but they also provide prayer & church service through the partnering of www.HUBATLANTA.com Atlanta Outreach Project don't stop there, they even provide comfort, a shoulder to cry on, ears to listen & a hand to hold while each client identifies & overcomes the barriers they face that hinders them from success. Atlanta Outreach Project really is a family bursting at the seams with LOVE. ATLANTA OUTREACH PROJECT IS DEFINITELY A GREAT PLACE TO DONATE, SUPPORT, VOLUNTEER & PARTNER WITH!!!
I can honestly say that this organization goes beyond providing shelter and other resources. I have seen hope and love poured into every person that walks through the door. I enjoy every moment with this organization and look forward to what's to come. I've been in a transitional housing program before in Atlanta and have witnessed the practices of other programs geared towards helping homeless people........I must say that Atlanta Outreach Project, Inc. is definitely set apart. It's one big family that cares and looks out for each other. I believe big things are in store for this organization in order for it to help serve more people and offer more services. I also believe that AOPI gives hope to those who have become hopeless and gives them the support they need to move forward!
This organization was very helpful when I contacted them regarding a homeless person I met who needed help. They did not have any vacancies at the time but were able to refer me to another place. They told me if they had more funding they would increase they number of people they could help at one time, but at lease they referred me somewhere else. Helping this organization serve more people is a worthwhile cause in my opinion. I'm so glad my new friend found help.
In my time with AOPI this organization has been one the best in the city serving the needs of men and women in Atlanta allowing the client to focusing his or her needs in order to re-establish their lives in quite and peaceful environment AWESOME!!
There are few non-profit organizations like Atlanta Outreach Project. They truly care about their clients and make every effort to convey that love. In my personal experience, Mary picked me up when I had no other place to call home. I had no other resources and had been abused mentally and emotionally to the point that i couldn't think straight. I had a few bad experiences in other shelters and had been staying at the airport to keep warm at night. She gave me time to rest and didn't push for a quick fix. I am now in permanent housing with a full time job and am going to school full time persuing my dream to get a degree.
Atlanta Outreach Project is truly a one of a kind operation. What makes this organization unique is that its management is able to offer flexibility in its programming to meet the needs of the community. This program was originally designed to meet the needs of single homeless men and women, but one winter agreed to adjust to meet the needs of homeless pregnant women and families. After completing the program they all are stable and permanently housed. AWESOME,AWESOME,AWESOME!
Thank you Aop !!!!!!!! I am so blessed to have found Aop I had no one just as many more I was pregnant no one would take me until I found Aop, today I have my family and a job to support them with all the praise to god and Aop.
For the past few years I've been actively involved in my community, serving as a volunteer and board member for other organizations. I felt a calling to use my time to serve an organization that had a more Christ-centered focus and truly meeting the basic needs of people in Atlanta. I was fortunate to find AOP, and when I first met the Executive Director I immediately said this is a woman who has a heart for change and I want to be a part of what she's trying to do. As a board member I am fulfilled knowing the investments I make with my time and money are doing great things for people who deserve a second chance. I'm looking forward to growing with AOP as they expand to touch the lives the many homeless men and woman in the Atlanta area.
Hello,
We are the Murray family!
There isn't enough stars to rate this amazing organization.
This is our story....
While living in south Georgia in early 2011 my now husband & I found ourselves in a homeless situation due to losing our home. We came to the Atlanta area with our then three children & our savings. Trying to find affordable housing & employment was impossible. Soon our savings, used to rent an efficiency lodge depleted. We now found ourselves seriously homeless! My husband & I both are children of foster care & are in this life without any family or support system. We had no one to turn to. In our darkest time of despair we had to separate from our children, who where now placed in states care due to the very limited sheltered programs being filled to capacity. Shortly after, we found out that we where expecting our fourth child. This made things very tough on us as we searched long & hard for a homeless shelter or housing program that accepted pregnant woman who were not either veterans or disabled or addicts. Everywhere we turned would turn us away due to our not meeting certain criteria or due to myself being a liability. We then now, found ourselves seeking shelter from the elements under a bridge. That was the longest & most difficult 90 days of my lifetime. Only by Gods mercy & grace was I brought through that season.
One early & very cold & windy morning we where woken by a group of outreach volunteers who came out to the streets in search of homeless humans like myself. They where with the "Street to Home" program through United Way Of Atlanta. They took my husband & myself along with several other couples to this wonderful program called ATLANTA OUTREACH PROJECT. They sure where our angles sent from God! They accepted us just as broken as we where & offered a variety of needed services & if they didn't have those services, they assisted in the search of each service needed. They provided us with a new, clean bed, hygiene products, linens, toiletry, cleaning supplies & household items, oh && did I mention they provided us with an APARTMENT! They gave us a space to call home!!! They gave us our dignity back. They gave us a SUPPOSRT SYSTEM! Atlanta Outreach Project was there to aid us in obtaining custody back of our children, obtaining assistance with finding employment for my husband, providing spiritual guidance & leadership && most of all, they gave us what we all so desperately search for everyday...LOVE! They loved us though our struggles then && they are still loving us! Atlanta Outreach Project assisted my now husband & I with obtaining our marriage license. We gave birth to our son in March 2012 & regained custody of our children & obtained our own stable housing within 8 months. All due to the outstanding work they do. Since then Atlanta Outreach Project has remained a great support system to our family & continues to this day to be the biggest contribution to our success!!
Not only do we have ATLANTA OUTREACH PROJECT to thank for our success, but we have YOU to thank. YOU the volunteer, YOU the donator, YOU the prayer warrior!! We have all of you to thank. If it wasn't for you, AOPI wouldn't have the ability to provide the means to such life changing events for the homeless men, woman & children in our community's! So give yourselves a BIG HUG! Cause if I seen you I would! The love that you share by offering your assistance weather it be through volunteer or material, monetary donations or providing your expertise or even just your heart of prayer... each of these things are all acts of LOVE which is the prime bases of this extraordinary organization. The love you pour into it, they turn around an pour into their clients.
I cant speak highly enough for this program. They truly are one of an original & one that is making lasting impacts on its clients!
Thank you for taking the time to hear our story! We pray that God will lead your hearts to see these wonderful abilities & the amazing potential of this non-profit organization.
Blessings,
Murray Family
AOP was there for me and my 10 year old when no one else was. I was 7 months pregnant, no shelter would accept pregnant women, who already had a child, event though I was working. AOP reached out a hand and help me become self sufficient.
My name is Leslie Turner. I am a disabled veteran who became severly ill with end stage renal disease. After an extensive stay in the hospital with no source of income upon dishcharge I was connected with Atlanta Outreach. Initially I was place in a transitional home. AOPI helped me aquire the resouces that allowed me to get my 100 percent disability. Providing me with assistance for not only shelter but food clothing and transportation. After receving benefits for my disability AOPI allowed me the opportunity to move from transitional to permanent housing. Also proving me with a referal to receve much need furniture for tthe apartment. I can't say enough good things about this agency. Here 2 years later on my own and they still keep in contact with me. The more you work with them the more they work with you. Giving you the tools you need to excel in society again. God bless you AOPI.
Atlanta Outreach Project Incorporated have very well helped my family and I to the best of their ability. We had no place to go with a child and my wife was six months pregnant. AOPI gave us much help on resources they've had. They've also provided excellent case management to make sure I was on the right path to stability. Fast forward one year later, now my wife and myself is both working a job we enjoy doing and our kids are happy and healthy . Thanks Atlanta Outreach Project
