Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Education, Educational Services, Gerontology, Seniors

Mission: AGHE is an organization composed of more than 300 institutional members--colleges, universities, private businesses, and government organizations that provide education, training, and research programs in gerontology and/or geriatrics. Through conferences, publications, technical assistance, research studies, and consultation with policy makers, AGHE, an educational unit of The Gerontological Society of America, seeks to advance gerontology as a field of study at institutions of higher education. As the only national membership organization devoted primarily to gerontological education, AGHE is in a unique position to develop and sponsor education and training initiatives and to involve students, educators, and businesspeople from across the country in providing resources for older adults and for those who serve them.
