Mission: Assistance League® of Covina Valley is a nonprofit volunteer service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and providing an opportunity for a more positive future for our community through outreach, education and youth programs.
Programs: Learning center - tutoring by credentialed teachers and tutors with a math or science related degree at reduced rates to children 6-18 years of age to provide opportunities for maximum development of their learning potential. An average of 49 students per week were assisted. The range for tutoring, including sat classes, is 100 to 200.
operation school bell - has provided school uniforms, jackets, shoes and other clothing items to over 922 children this year.
assault survivor kits - kits are provided to local hospital emergency rooms and crisis centers. They contain clothing and personal hygiene items for victims of rape or assault.
community services - the chapter provides good quality used clothing to men, women and children who are in crisis. These clients are referred by contracted social service agencies that serve our local communty. The chapter served 722 clients this year.
