Hawaii canines for independence, inc. Offers people with disabilities increased independence through the unique skills of dogs that are cared for and trained by dedicated instructors and volunteers.
Programs: Placed service dogs with physically disabled people, conducted therapy dog program for local hospitals and nursing homes, the wounded warrior program for veterans, the read program for children and the workplace readiness program for high school students with special needs.
conducted a scent detection research project with kapiolani medical center to teach dogs to provide early detection of life threatening medical conditions.
