Mission: Our mission is to enhance the lives of people of all ages and abilities by creating equitable opportunities to engage in the arts.

Programs: Arts Horizons is in our 42nd year as a non-profit arts-in-education organization that brings the power, joy and influence of the arts into the lives of young people by making music, visual art, dance, theatre and creative writing an integral part of learning and teaching. We offer hands on arts workshops for classes, live performances for larger audiences and family workshop programs. Founded in 1978 with one brass ensemble by John Devol, professional musician and educator, we now offer 45 performance programs presented by 185 artists, and a roster of over 150 teaching artists ( professional artists who are also experienced teachers) who conduct workshops in music, visual art, dance, creative writing, theater, storytelling, and new media technology. Our teaching artists are professionals who are selected for artistic virtuosity, teaching experience, excellent communication skills and cultural / ethnic diversity. Arts Horizons programs are distinguished by a commitment to artistic excellence, educational effectiveness, and cultural diversity as well as a belief that the arts are an essential component of human development and learning.
