Mission: Our mission includes raising funds for students in the arts. Arts angels aims to promote arts education and programming for students in nyack public schools. Our fund-raising activities provide financial support to ensure the vitality of arts education and programming in nyack schools, expanding and enriching student experiences. As a tax-exempt organization, arts angels:accepts donations and engages in fund-raising activities on behalf of artworks, dramaworks and musicworks. Allocates money that would not otherwise be available to these groups through special events, membership dues, grants and individual contributions. Offsets costs for school clubs and programs including equipment, travel to competitions and events, workshops, artist-in-residency programs, and after-school activities. Arts angels strives to engage a larger audience to support the talent of our nyack students and share in the benefits of a community that values and promotes the arts.
Programs: Artworks is the parent/community organization providing support and advocacy for the visual arts in the nyack public schools. Through fundraising, artworks provides fiscal support for extra activities & materials for the visual arts programs in our school district.
dramaworks is the parent group supporting the drama club at nyack high school. We help raise money for student scholarships, and support performances through various activities. Nyack high schools drama club is an extra-curricular activity which offers students an opportunity to be actors, singers, dancers, assistant directors/producers, sound and light technicians, set and costume designers, scenic painters, prop designers, stagehands and musicians. Each year the drama club presents three productions: fall drama or comedy, spring musical and spring one acts. Family and friends will be delighted in seeing a memorable evening of extraordinary talent.
musicworks is a parent organization which, in partnership with the nyack public school district, seeks to support and enhance the music department and increase community awareness of its programs by:providing opportunities for students to perform in a wide variety of settings by arranging for concerts in the communityraising funds so students can attend regional and national festivalsensuring that musical opportunities are available to all students (e. G. , by offering scholarships for instruments and music lessons)maintaining this website for families and the community.
