I've volunteered with Artisan Alley for 7 years and they have always provided great spaces and services for artists who are just starting out. they have a strong community focus and a passion for promoting local art.
Artisan Alley has a great variety of products from local artists. Definitely a great spot to find a unique gift! I love to see the local art community receiving this type of support.
I started at Artisan Alley as an intern and my experience with them so far has been great. Outside of this internship, I am a full time student and work part time. With that being said, they have been extremely flexible with my time and I couldn't be more appreciative.
Artisan Alley is an art organization that I was seeking. Through engaging Artisan Alley, I can share my artwork with other artists, make friends with people who love art, and prove art is not meaningless. I grew up in a family that considered academic achievements are far more important than achievement in art. They reduced my time in drawing and watching animation because they trust it is unrealistic to get a job by drawing. However, after I volunteered for Artisan Alley, I met a group of passionate and creative artists who can use their own skills, like crafting, painting, and sculpturing to bring joy to others. Every time I returned home from Artisan Alley, I shared those artists' stories and my achievements with my family. In the beginning, they did not pay attention to my words, but later they will ask me about what new thing I did and learned in Artisan Alley. I knew that my families' attitudes to art changed at that moment. Thus, I hope to share my story with Artisan Alley and help more people learn about such a great place to get access to the art world!
I needed custom artwork done, and Artisan Alley connected me with a member artist who made exactly what I needed. This collective is great.
I've been involved with Artisan Alley since late 2018, and it has changed my life. The community of member artists has been infinitely supportive, and the work that Artisan Alley does is unique and impactful in the community. I'm honored to be involved with this nonprofit, and I hope you look into supporting them.
Artisan Alley is where I found community after moving to Bloomington, IN over a year ago. Until I found this nonprofit, I was having a hard time finding outlets for my creative work, and Artisan Alley not only provides me a chance to be supported in my creativity but also volunteer my time and get to know other artists in the area.
I love this Organization and volunteer and help with their board, as I believe this is an organization that is worth giving to. Nowadays, schools are closing, they are ending practical programs, and too many people need work, business assistance, a community, or just essential resources. Artisan Alley helps people in so many ways.
They offer food, trade tools, and education programs for those in need for free. They provide affordable art camps, afterschool programs, and kid classes for families. They help incubate small businesses and build up creative individuals with their different resources and services through their membership options. They even raise awareness of social causes thru exhibitions, public art, and public activities.
Bottom line, they do a lot to support the greater Bloomington area and its community members, and if you can, you should show your support to them as well.
