Mission: Serves the humanitarian needs of the armenian people and seeks to preserve the cultural identity of the armenian nation.
Programs: General activities promote social, cultural and health services to armenian people. A. Assistance fund for syrian-armenian schools:the ars of eastern usa transferred the sum total of $65,766 collected with strong support from ars entities, to ars/syria. Each of the 27 schools in aleppo, damascus, kessab, latakia, kamishli and other armenian populated areas received its share of the collected sum. B. "hot meal" project:in january, 2013, the ceb asked all ars entities to find benefactors and donors for this humanitarian program. Each chapter could assume the sponsorship of one day's distribution of the meals, by allocating $250, to this program. Ceb-initiated project is carried out in cooperation with ars/syria, financed with sums received from ars entities. In the beginning, the hot meals were distributed twice a week, however, starting in may, the program was implemented three times a week, the ars of eastern usa transferred $15,000 for this program. C. "warm home program": the ceb decided to assist families suffering from crippling poverty by launching "warm home program" during the winter months. This project aims to provide financial assistance once every three months, by supplying the families with fuel and help them warm their homes during the cold winter days. Financial assistance of $100 will be given to each family every three months. 500-600 families have been considered to benefit from this project. The ars of eastern usa transferred $10,000 for this program. D. "sponser a syrian armenian family":whereas, 400 armenian families in syria -- specifically in aleppo -- have been identified as being in dire need of immediate relief funding. The chapters in the eastern region commit to sponsor as many families as possible by pledging $100. 00 per family per month for a one year period. The ars of eastern usa transferred $48,000 for this program.
