Mission: Arkansas athletes outreach (aa0) is a sports development and mentoring organization that utilizes the natural attraction of sports to ensure that young people reap the maximum physical, social, and moral benefits of athletic competition. Aao recognizes that sports is the universal language of our culture, crossing racial, economic, and gender barriers; therefore, aao is uniquely positioned to develop current generations of young people into champions for life through the influence of sports.
Programs: In achieving its mission sports development and mentoring among young people, aao sponsored and/or directed the following activities: (1) middle school boys & girls basketball teams; (2) select boys basketball teams to compete at higher levels in a regional area; (3) administration of a middle school basketball league in nw arkansas; (4) provision of training services for middle school coaches in nw arkansas; (5) sponsorship of aao top 25 basketball camp for higher level players to expose them to small college coachers & recruiters; (6) regional team basketball camp for junior & senior high teams; and (7) administration of high school and middle school academies to provide not only athletic training but life skills training as well.
