A proactive group that strives to reduce the number of homeless pets in central Arkansas by fostering and finding permanent families for homeless pets. They have also coordinated low cost options for spaying and neutering pets of families with low incomes. Pets that have entered the foster program with AAHA are also fostered until they are healthy and received all vetting, to include treatment for heartworms, injuries, and other health issues. Prior to adoption, pets are assessed based on personalities, family fit characteristics and any ongoing medical needs. AAHA strives for maximum success for each pet as they are readied for their new homes.
