Mission: Arizona technology in education association (aztea) is a professional nonprofit organization devoted to increasing student achievement through technology in teaching and learning. Aztea is the international society for technology in education affiliate for arizona.
Programs: Aztea offers grant opportunities to educators throughout the state through a grant from the centurylink foundation. In addition, aztea also provides a series of awards for outstanding educators and administrator. These grants and awards recognize and fund innovative classroom level projects that directly impact student's and award peer nominated educators for their excellence as educators. These funds are distributed through a competitive process, overseen by the aztea awards committee. In 2013-2014, 12 schools received grants under $5,000 and 12 schools received grants for $5,000 for a total of $110,000.
as an organization dedicated to providing professional development opportunities to educators throughout the state of arizona, aztea's conferences support this mission by providing conferences in locations that that are convenient to our members. These conferences, along with follow-up online workshops and webinars, provide educators with sustained opportunities for professional development.
aztea has a yearly membership that gives members the opportunity to participate in all of the services/programs we offer.
the stem az education collaborative is comprised of arizona science teachers association (asta) and arizona association of the teachers of mathematics (aatm) to offer membership in all three organizations.
