Aqua Angels is more than a non-profit organization. It is a community of people who share a common fear that work together to overcome and learn life-saving swimming techniques. The instructors exhibit a passion for people and are welcoming to people from all walks of life. In a short amount of time, Aqua Angels has been able to possibly save the lives of hundreds of people.
Wonderful thing they do here. Literally saving lives everyday especially the young ones. This is something everyone should learn. Especially from the most compassionate instructors.
My journey with Aqua Angels has spanned over two years. As a certified instructor and professional educator, this program has a wide, well trained staff that delivers a variety of water safety skills and personal and emotional support for those individuals who may not have had the opportunity to learn to swim at a younger age.
I was introduced to Aqua Angels by Rebekah Craig a few years ago. She would always ask me when am I coming to learn how to swim and I would put it off because of my schedule. Well when I walked through the doors, she greeted me with a smile and was surprised to see me. The instructors we paitent with me and very helpful. In the few lessons I took with this organization, I felt more comfortable in the water, and my skills as a swimmer improved greatly. If anybody wants to learn the skills to save a life on the water, Aqua Angels is the way too go. It's such a great service they are providing to the communities. So many people lives have been saved from this organization alone. I plan to go back and get more lessons from them.
I have severed as Founder and Executive Director since inception and I Love this organization! I am beyond grateful for each and every volunteer, from BOD members to Swim instructors. We look forward to saving even more lives through teaching water safety and challenging community members to Dive into Brave Waters.
This nonprofit strives to help people from all walks of life learn how to swim in a fun safe environment. One of the biggest hurdles for minorities in particular to learn how to swim as the price point and this organization helps meet the need. I have seen many people who were initially uncomfortable being in the pool eventually learn how to swim independently. They’ve been able to enjoy the water and create the safe environment for others to also learn as well.
My mother has been a part of this team since its inception. This non-profit has brought the life-saving skill of swimming to hundreds of individuals of all ages and backgrounds. However, that statement alone does not fully capture what this nonprofit is truly accomplishing. They are building a community within Greenville County, bringing people together on a weekly basis to promote socialization, swim safety, and physical activity. Other organizations, such as the Red Cross, have collaborated with Aqua Angels to provide more in-depth safety instruction to underserved communities. Aqua Angels has also been invited to speak on local Greenville news outlets over the past few years to raise awareness about the importance of swim safety, most recently addressing the increased risk of drowning among children with autism. Failing to support the continued growth of this organization would be a disservice to the local community and potentially to the surrounding regions in the years to come.
Amazing gift to all who do not know how to swim! Saving lives one person at a time by teaching a life skill! So lucky to get to volunteer with them when time permits!
