Mission: Apollos’ Pals: A Legacy of Love Apollos came into my life when he needed saving—but in the end, he was the one who saved me. He was abandoned, left to fend for himself, forgotten by the world. When we took him in, I never imagined how much he would change my life. He wasn’t just another rescue; he became my best friend, my protector, my everything. A few years later, my world shattered—I was diagnosed with cancer. That’s when Apollos' true journey began. He never left my side. He sensed my pain before I even spoke, comforting me in ways no words ever could. He was my lifeline, my reason to keep fighting. His love, his loyalty, and his quiet understanding gave me the strength to push forward. Apollos lived with us for 13 wonderful years, passing just shy of his 16th birthday. Before he left, I made him a promise—a vow that his love and kindness would not end with him. That’s how Apollos’ Pals Sanctuary was born. In the last five years, we have rescued, rehabilitated, and found loving homes for over 100 dogs and cats. Some find new families, while others stay with us, living out their golden years in peace and dignity. Every life we save is because of Apollos. His spirit is woven into the fabric of our mission, his legacy guiding us with every step. Though Apollos is no longer physically here, his presence is everywhere—in the eyes of the animals we rescue, in the wag of a once-forgotten dog’s tail, in the gentle purr of a cat finally knowing safety. We continue, one life at a time. One rescue at a time. Because of Apollos.
