Mission: The maclaurin institute (doing business as anselm house) exists to bridge church and university, bringing theological resources to the university and academic resources to the church. We cultivate a community of students, professors, pastors, and vocational leaders in the twin cities who are exploring the implications of the christian faith in all areas of life, vocation, and culture.
Programs: Student programs: anselm house sponsored discussion groups for students at the university of minnesota to explore how their faith relates to their studies. These programs included a new year-long fellows program for upper-level undergraduate and graduate students, designed to enable students to integrate their faith with their academic learning and future vocations. Approximately 950 students attended these events.
visiting scholars lectures: anselm house sponsored lectures by visiting and local scholars--in fields such as law, medicine, natural science, and the humanities--who discussed the intersection of their christian faith and scholarship. These lectures helped attendees consider and discuss together enduring human questions from a christian perspective. Approximately 1500 participants attended these lectures.
discussion forums and reading groups: anselm house sponsored small group programs--reading groups and other discussion venues--for the university and the twin cities communities that explored enduring human questions from a christian perspective. Approximately 950 participants attended these events.
