Mission: Anna julia cooper episcopal school is an independent, faith based middle school for students of limited resources primarily from richmond's east end neighborhood. All students receive a full tuition scholarship.
Programs: The school serves both boys and girls middle school age kids 4th through 8th grade. Core classes consist of math, science, history and english with physical education and weekly chapel services. There is an extended day program that offers art, theater, mentoring and outdoor activities. The required summer program offers math and english enrichment classes as well as athletic, fine arts and cooking classes.

Individuals and businesses who contribute to the scholarship fund and pay taxes in the commonwealth of virginia are eligible to receive a 65% state tax credit as part of the education improvement scholarship tax credit program.
