I have been a rescue advocate and dog adopter since I could adopt a dog on my own from a shelter, but it wasn't until last year that I stumbled upon Animal Hope and Wellness'Instagram that my life completely changed. The horror that Marc Ching voluntarily witnesses to bring justice to the victims of the dog meat trade is nothing short of heroic. I instantly knew our (my husband and I) 6th dog would be a dog meat trade survivor from Animal Hope and Wellness. We adopted Roxy April 29th 2016. Ever since then I have made it my mission to help spread awareness to the dog meat trade. I have also created two shirt designs and all proceeds are donated to Animal Hope and Wellness in honor of our beautiful girl, Roxy! Our family cannot thank Marc Ching enough for saving all these beautiful souls.

I gave to the Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation in Los Angeles. The head of this organization, Marc Ching risks his life in Asia to document the HORRIFIC torture of dogs prior to being killed for food. Dogs are kept in cramped rusty, cages stacked on top of each other (see photos) The method of slaughter is usually extremely and even intentionally brutal, and the dogs are often butchered in full view of the others. Most horrifically'due to a traditional belief that high adrenaline levels will produce tender meat and increase the supposed health benefits'dogs who are killed may be intentionally subjected to extreme fear and suffering and be killed via bludgeoning, hanging, being held up and blow torched ALIVE and fully conscious. electrocution. At the open-air markets, dogs are often electrocuted and their necks are broken'all in plain sight to passers-by and the other dogs. Consuming dog meat puts individuals at risk of infection from such deadly parasites as E. Coli 107 and salmonella (commonly found in contaminated meats), as well as at risk of contracting other serious and potentially deadly bacterial diseases such as anthrax, brucellosis, hepatitis, and leptospirosis. Dog meat is additionally linked to the spread of rabies, a disease that kills approximately 10,000 dogs and 350 people per year in the Philippines. Animal Hope and Wellness is trying to push Congressman Hastings' House resolution 752 to the floor to be voted on urgently. With each day that goes by, thousands (if not tens of thousands) of dogs are brutally tortured by being burned alive, dismembered or disemboweled, hung by their necks and beat until their bones are splintered. Marc Ching from the The Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation brought back undercover evidence that was presented on Capitol Hill in a briefing on September 14th. I am begging your organization to get involved in this cause and help this organization. We need to promote reSPECT for all life on the planet and teach future generations compassion for animals. If we can teach our children respect for all life on the planet I believe that we will begin to treat each other with respect and compassion as well. If we are going to consume animals for food we need to treat them humanely during their life and slaughter them quickly and as painlessly and peacefully as possible. THIS IS OUR reSPONSIBILITY. Thank you for your time. You can contact me at 513-505-6357. My name is Kathy Smith
