The Angels Over Sandpoint is an amazing organization that supports those in Bonner County, Idaho who would otherwise fall through the cracks. Their motto is "a hand up, not a handout," and they do an incredible job of supporting community members (especially families with children) who need that hand up. And, it's an entirely volunteer organization - none of the officers or board members receive any salary. It warms my heart to know they are there.
Since we’re 100% volunteers, all of our funds go directly to those in need. I am a (recent) past board member, who’s been involved in many other philanthropic and volunteer organizations, but none as as close to my heart as the Angels Over Sandpoint. The members are fun, kind-hearted and driven to serve not only our community, but each other. Funds are raised through grants, gift giving and fun community events!
I worked with a team of Angels Over Sandpoint that provided approximately 1800 handmade sewn masks to health care, businesses and individuals in our community during the first few months of the pandemic. More than 860 volunteer hours by dedicated members and community friends went into this effort. The project helped keep our community safe.
I have been a member of the Angels Over Sandpoint since it's inception. I've seen it grow from a small group to an all-volunteer organization that supplies about 900 students with back to school supplies and backpacks, helps homeless families, people who are not eligible for social services with rent & utilities, battered women and much more. I'm so proud of our community based group and what we have done for those in need in Bonner County.
For more than 20 years, the Angels Over Sandpoint have been helping people in need in Bonner County. They do an amazing job of creating fun, well-attended fundraisers and then donating 100% of the proceeds back into the community. The Angels Over Sandpoint is an all-volunteer non-profit. I have been a member for 20+ years and appreciate everything we have be able to do to support low-income students with all the school supplies they need at the beginning of the year, those struggling with rent and utilities payments, victims of domestic violence, seniors and veterans, to name a few of our funding projects. We also give a large number of scholarships to students and grants to other community groups. There is no other group I would rather volunteer with.
