Mission: To support planning and coordination efforts to develop a non-profit assisted living facility with coordinated health services in mendocino county.
Programs: In 2013, aveh continued to fundraise in order to try to meet a matching pledge of $100,000. At the end of 2011, aveh received a pledge of $100,000, half of which was granted immediately, the other half to be provided once the full $100,000 was matched by other donations. Although it conducted or participated in five fundraising events in 2013, at year-end it was still about $13,000 short of meeting the match. During 2013, the board agreed that about $345,000 would be required to build a five-suite assisted living facility and that construction could commence once $275,000 was in its construction account. Near year-end, the fund was $95,000 short of that amount. Also near the end of the year, the board began discussions of the community need for more independent living units in the immediate future.
