American Nurses Association - Vermont is a non-profit organization that represents professional nurses in Vermont. They send out a free newspaper to all nurses in the state. The have a website https://anavermont.nursingnetwork.com/ and Facebook page with many events. They lobby legislators at the Vermont State House. There is National collaboration with other states who all meet together in June for Membership Assembly and visit legislators in Washington D.C. Every year they have a Fall conference that always provides CNE credits, amazing speakers and Spring Legislation Day includes visits and discussions with local top legislative leaders for free. They support nurses, and advocate for them. They do this with only a part-time Executive Director and one very part time employee. The rest is volunteers. It is kept alive by local members. Many nurses rely on this organization but do not belong, thinking that the paper means they belong or that they are affiliated with the Board of Nursing (which it is not). No one would get the Nurse Connection if ANA-VT did not send it out.
